시그널 is by far one of 2015’s best K-Dramas outside of the romantic comedy genre. Episode 1 gets you instantly hooked with its unique cinematography. The choice in filter makes the drama seem as if you’re watching a slightly higher budget series that can be reminiscent of American tv. No cheesy animation or upbeat OST here; only mature entertaining programing.
The main characters are both believable as well. Detective Cha is of course the righteous cop who follows the book rather than the inner bureaucracy of the department. She exudes confidence in both her actions and interrogations.
Lieutenant Park on the other hand is an inexperienced officer with a keen eye for details. In his youth he unknowingly witnessed his first kidnapping/murder case which helped solve it 15 years later.
Both characters balance each other out nicely and the drama is written in a realistic manner. All with the exception of a mysterious police radio that Lieutenant Park finds…
